Brazilian Tulipwood Veneer

Brazilian Tulipwood Veneer

Brazilian Tulipwood is also called Bois de Rose, Pinkwood, Pau de Fuso and Jacaranda Rosa. It is native to tropical South America, especially northeastern Brazil.

The sapwood of Brazilian Tulipwood is solid yellow in colour and Tulipwood heartwood has irregular streaks of shades of yellow rose, pink and violet on a straw-coloured background, which fades with age.

The grain of Brazilian Tulipwood veneer is straight to roey and the texture is rather fine. The wood is highly lustrous and Tulipwood has a mildly fragrant scent when worked, that disappears after machining.
