Bocote Veneer

Louro preto veneer

Bocote is also known as Anacahuite, Baria, Siricote, Cupane, Amapa Asta, Canalete, Louro Pardo, Louro Preto and Loro Negro. It is found in northern Florida, West Indies, Central America, and southward to Brazil and Argentina.

The greyish or yellowish Bocote sapwood is rather sharply demarcated from the heartwood, which is tobacco coloured to reddish brown, with irregular dark brown or blackish streaks and variegations, with more or less of an oily or waxy appearance;

Bocote veneer grain is variable and texture fine to medium. Lustre is variable and the scent mildly fragrant, at least when fresh.
