Surface pattern

Winwood Products is a supplier of the following Light Grey Crown pattern slip-resistant plywoods:

Light Grey Crown pattern plywood: Scan of anti-slip surface coating (approx. size = 135x90mm)

This slip-resistant, exterior plywood has a hard-wearing phenolic film overlay chemically bonded to its surface by heat and pressure. This surface layer is imprinted with a raised pattern consisting of hundreds of light grey circular raised areas of approx. 10mm diameter in a repeating equilateral triangular configuration.

The circular raised pattern gives the panels a high degree of anti-slip properties under a wide range of climactic conditions and is therefore an ideal material for demanding flooring applications.

Information

Technical details (general)

  • Construction:
    • Exterior birch plywood faced with a slip-resistant, patterned phenolic resin coating that offers enhanced safety in the form of a resilient and water-proof anti-slip surface
  • Standard thickness:
    • 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 21mm, 24mm, 27mm, 30mm
      (plus surface coating)
  • Standard sizes:
    • 1200 / 1220 / 1250 x 2400 / 2440 / 2500mm
    • 1200 / 1220 x 3000 / 3050 / 3300 / 3600 / 4000mm
    • 1500 / 1525 / 1880 x 2400 / 2440 / 3000 / 3050 / 3600 / 4000mm
  • Special sizes:
    • In principle, any size can be produced up to the maximum stated above
      (or 2900x13000mm if scarf jointed)
  • Surface coating:
    • 220g/m2-440g/m2 light grey patterned slip-resistant film
  • Edge treatment:
    • Typically sealed with exterior acrylic paint to protect against moisture
    • Notes:
      1. If the panels are subsequently cut to size, any newly exposed edges must be fully resealed using a suitable exterior protection system (e.g. acrylic paint)
      2. Rounding any sharp corners & edges will greatly help in the resealing process, as this will better allow the paint to fully adhere
      3. It is also highly recommended that after drilling holes or similar other areas where the water-resistant protective surface has been broken are sealed in a similar manner
  • Wear rating:
    • Taber abrasion value = 800R-1500R (EN 438-2), depending upon the coating
  • Tolerances:
    • Length/width: up to 1m @ ±1mm, up to 2m @ ±2mm , 2m & above @ ±3mm
    • Thickness: +0.2mm, -0.5mm
    • (Others by arrangement)
  • Specification:
    • EN 636-3 - Exterior & high moisture applications
  • Bonding Quality:
    • EN 314-2 Class 3 - Exterior
    • E1 (EN 13986) Low formaldehyde, CARB II, ULEF (Ultra Low Emitting Formaldehyde)
